Established in Singapore in 2015, SubtleSato Studio is a boutique interior design practice devoted to creating spaces of quiet distinction, timeless refinement and enduring relevance.

The studio's name is inspired by the Japanese word Sato (里), meaning one's hometown or place of belonging. More than a name, it reflects our belief that the most meaningful spaces foster connection, familiarity and a profound sense of home.

Every commission begins with a thoughtful understanding of its inhabitants, architecture and context. Rather than imposing a predetermined aesthetic, we uncover the unique character of each space through considered planning, material integrity and carefully composed proportions. Guided by restraint and intention, we create interiors that feel effortless, deeply personal and made to endure beyond trends.

By intentionally undertaking a limited number of commissions each year, the studio remains closely involved throughout every stage of the design journey. This allows every project to be shaped with clarity, precision and care, resulting in spaces that quietly enrich everyday life.
